* A normal control sample, prepared at the same time as the patient sample, should accompany diagnostic samples as well as samples from laboratories which are performing the procedure for the first time. There is no charge for the normal control sample. Control samples are not usually required for monitoring Cystagon™ compliance and dosage.

** These prices are for preparations done at UCSD. For leukocyte preparations the patients must be seen, and the blood freshly obtained, at UCSD.

*** The charge includes preparation of PMNs from one normal control and one heterozygote control. The family is not charged for the normal control or the heterozygote control cystine assays. We can only do this procedure if the family comes to UCSD.
