Quantitative Taurine Analysis (Plasma)

Comments: Taurine is assayed using an automated amino acid analyzer.

Sample requirements: Plasma, ³1 mL (0.5 mL) from heparinized blood (green top tube) supernatant from clinical centrifugation (within 20 minutes) promptly frozen and shipped frozen (packed with dry ice) and shipped at room temperature with original volume specified. Tissue, at least 1 gram muscle, rapidly frozen at -70°C, stored and shipped frozen (packed with dry ice).

Turn-around time: Routine: 10-14 days.
